Goodbye to our families, our parents, and the lives that we knew. No more university study, 9-5 work life, or leftovers for lunch. Gone were the nights in our own comfortable beds, the mornings where we knew what city we were in, and where we recognised the sound of the birds.
It was now time for an adventure!
Time for the culture shock, the truly authentic food, and to be introduced to the planet's beautiful people. Now we are going to explore, experience, and appreciate. This is the beginning of our greatest adventure.
Sometimes it is good to jump into the deep end or to whip off a band-aid in one go, but other times it is better to slide into the shallows and take a leisurely paddle. Following this idealisation, we decided to spend two nights in Auckland before flying to Phuket, Thailand. We were able to gather our thoughts and catch up with some family and friends.
